WorshipA Word from the Music/Worship Pastor... I don’t understand how a God so divine could lower Himself to a life such as mine, and consider me worth every minute of time to rescue a sinner like me! What incredible words these are… from a text written by Glenn Calcote in a musical arrangement that we have adopted here at Huffman to be one of our great worship themes! These words lead me to pose a question to you… do you have a grasp on just WHO HE IS? Doesn’t this remind you of Psalm 8, where David asks the Lord, “Why do you bother with us? Why take a second look our way? Yet… You put us in charge of your handcrafted world… made us lords of sheep and cattle, even animals out in the wild, birds flying and fish swimming, whales singing in the ocean deeps. God, brilliant Lord, Your name echoes around the world.” (From: The Message Bible) Here at Huffman, we gratefully celebrate the fact that our Lord loves and cares for us so much, that He “gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should NOT perish, but have everlasting life!” Oh, we serve a good and great God, and we have the privilege to worship Him, Father, Son and Holy Spirit individually through the week, and corporately on Sundays. Our worship style has been described as lively and spirited, and it is blended in its approach to include a gamut of musical form, encompassing both traditional and contemporary elements. We are blessed with fine artistic talent here and recognize a long-established tradition of excellence in our arts ministries. We have a worship praise band whose hearts for the Lord are as sincere as the gifting of their wonderful musical ability. Our Celebration Choir regularly leads worship, and we are blessed with small worship leading teams from every age group. So……… if you are looking for a place to serve alongside a warm and caring people, Huffman Baptist Church is the right choice for you! MUSIC / WORSHIP MINISTRY TIMES Sunday schedule: 10:30 AM – Corporate Worship 4 PM – Praise Team and Praise Band 5 PM – Student Choir / Drama, Preschool and Children’s Choirs Wednesday schedule: 4 PM – Happy Hearts Choir 6 PM – Celebration Choir Our age group choirs include Preschool Choir, Children’s Choirs, Student Choir (Grades 7-12), Celebration Choir (Adults), and the Happy Hearts Choir (Senior Adults). God has blessed our church family with many special gifts through music and we hope you will prayerfully consider joining the music ministry as we sing praises to honor His name!
